Education and Childcare

Cleared Before the First Day

Education and childcare screening runs on a calendar. Clearances have to be in place before a teacher steps into a classroom, before a volunteer joins a field trip, and before a childcare worker is counted in the ratio.

That is why we handle so much of this work in August and January, and why on-site sessions during in-service days are usually the right answer for a district or a center rather than sending everyone individually.

  • Teachers and newly certified educators
  • Substitute teachers and long-term subs
  • Paraprofessionals and classroom aides
  • Coaches and activity sponsors
  • School volunteers and parent helpers
  • Bus drivers and transport staff
  • Licensed childcare and daycare staff
  • Preschool and early learning center employees
  • After-school and summer program staff

Bring These

  • Current government issued photo ID
  • The district, licensing or agency instruction letter
  • Any ORI number supplied
  • Exact name spelling used on your application
Volunteers count too. Districts increasingly require the same fingerprint based clearance for regular volunteers as for staff. If your school has told you to get fingerprinted, this is the page you want.
Book August early. Late August is our busiest window for education clients. If your district needs a session before the term starts, call in July.

For Districts and Centers

On-Site Sessions for Schools and Childcare Providers

We bring live scan and FD-258 to your building and work through the roster in one visit.

In-service day sessions

Fingerprint the whole staff intake during an in-service or professional development day, with no one losing teaching time.

Volunteer clearance drives

A single evening or weekend session clears a term's worth of parent volunteers rather than trickling them through individually.

Childcare center staffing

Licensed centers with rolling hires can set a recurring schedule so new staff are cleared without holding up the ratio.

Questions

Teaching and Daycare Fingerprinting FAQs

Go back and ask for the submission route and any ORI number before you book. Districts and licensing bodies differ, and turning up without that means we cannot route the submission correctly.
Electronic federal submissions typically return in 1 to 72 hours. The district or licensing body then has its own review step, which is the part worth asking them about if you have a start date.
Usually yes, and often on the same requirement as full-time staff. Long-term subs almost always do. Check with the district, and bring whatever they send you.
Yes, and it is the most efficient way to do it. Roughly 15 to 20 people per hour, with a completion summary for your HR contact before we leave. See group fingerprinting.
The receiving state sets the requirement, and many want FD-258 cards mailed with the certification packet. See out of state fingerprinting, and bring the letter.
Yes, Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, excluding Fridays 10 AM to 2 PM. For a group of volunteers, call first and we will schedule a session instead.
