What It Is

Florida FDLE Live Scan, Transmitted From Kansas

Florida requires most licensed and credentialed roles to submit fingerprints electronically to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, not on a card in the post. That is a problem if you live in Overland Park and your licensing board, employer or agency is in Florida.

We capture your fingerprints on a live scan system here and transmit the submission electronically to FDLE under the ORI or Originating Agency Identifier your Florida agency gave you. The result routes to that agency exactly as it would if you had walked into a Florida site.

This is the standard route for Florida Level 2 screening, which is the fingerprint based state and national criminal history check used across Florida healthcare, childcare, education and licensed professions.

  • Electronic FDLE submission, no card mailed to Florida
  • Submitted under your Florida agency ORI number
  • Level 2 screening for AHCA, DCF, DOH and employer requirements
  • Appointment takes about 10 to 15 minutes
  • Walk-in and by-appointment slots both available

Bring These to Your Appointment

  • Current government issued photo ID
  • Your Florida ORI number
  • Any FDLE, AHCA or agency instruction letter
  • The exact name spelling used on your Florida application
  • Your Florida license or applicant ID if you have one
No ORI number yet? Call (816) 442-0295 before you come in. Without the right ORI the submission cannot be routed, and a resubmission means paying twice.

Who Usually Needs This

  • Nurses and allied health staff licensed in Florida
  • AHCA regulated healthcare and home health workers
  • Childcare and DCF regulated staff
  • Teachers and school staff moving to Florida districts
  • Real estate, insurance and financial licensees
  • Contractors working for Florida based employers
  • Anyone who moved from Florida and still holds the license

How It Works

Four Steps to a Submitted Florida Live Scan

Confirm your ORI with us first

Call or email the ORI number and agency name from your Florida paperwork. We check the submission route before you travel to the office, which is the single biggest cause of wasted trips.

Walk in or book a slot

Walk-ins run Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with no walk-ins on Fridays between 10 AM and 2 PM. Outside those hours we are open 24/7 by appointment.

Live scan capture and quality review

All ten fingers are captured digitally. The system scores each impression and we re-take anything that falls short, so the submission is not rejected days later for print quality.

Electronic transmission to FDLE

Your submission goes to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement under your ORI, and results are released to the Florida agency that requested them. You leave with a transaction receipt.

Turnaround is set by Florida, not by us. Our part finishes the day you are printed. How quickly FDLE and your Florida agency process and release the result varies by agency and by current volume, so check your expected timeline with the board or employer that requested the screening.

Questions

Florida Live Scan FAQs

Yes. Florida Level 2 screening is about the electronic submission reaching FDLE under the correct ORI, not about where the fingerprints were physically captured. Applicants living outside Florida are submitted this way routinely.
The ORI, or Originating Agency Identifier, tells the system which Florida agency should receive your results. It comes from the board, employer or agency requesting the screening, usually in the application packet or instruction letter. We cannot invent it for you, so bring it with you.
Level 1 is generally a name based check. Level 2 is the fingerprint based state and national criminal history check, which is what most Florida healthcare, childcare and licensed roles require. If your paperwork says Level 2, you need fingerprints, and that is what we submit.
The submission leaves the same day you are printed. Processing and release times are controlled by FDLE and by the Florida agency that requested the screening, so confirm the expected timeline with them rather than with us.
Yes. If several staff need Florida screening, group fingerprinting at your Overland Park site is usually faster and cheaper than sending everyone individually. Call with your headcount for a quote.
Yes. Some out of state applicants are told to submit physical cards instead. See FD-258 ink card fingerprinting, or ask us and we will read your instruction letter and tell you which route applies.
